April Counterfeit Kit Challenge Kit...Fantastic&Fabulous

Introducing my March kit,

This month we were given the fabulous Messy Box  for counterfeiting inspiration:

Here's my (much larger) version, "Fantastic and Fabulous"
Here's a look at just  the papers:

As you can see, I went a little crazy with it! I have always been a fan of Elsie Flanigan/ Elsie Larsen, and her sister, the owners of A Beautiful Mess. I even did a Love, Elsie Blog Focus week over a year ago, about using her paper from several years ago. You see those posts HERE. I still have some of those older Elsie papers, which I included in my kit, along with all kinds of other fun products with a similar feel or vibe. My scrapbooking tends to lean towards a softer feel of doilies, pastels, creams, pinks, and gold. So, it was fun to pull out my bolder scrapbooking stash, and might be why I went a bit overboard. There was so much included in this kit that I took several pictures in the attempt to show the entire kit. Will I use it all? Maybe, maybe not, but I will definitely give it a shot! Here's another look at the whole kit:
I had a bowl of ribbons, die cuts, journaling cards, and flair:
I also filled a palette tray with my itty bitty embellishments:

I did have gold letter stickers, but I have had those black and white houndstooth Thickers for a long time, and they never seemed to fit with my Counterfeit kit. When I looked at my kit for this month, they just seemed to fit! I also included a plain black set for those pages that houndstooth won't work on, and smaller letters for the more extended titles. I really love all of the itty bitty bits in my palette tray; sequins, punched bits, and other leftover pieces and punched vellum scraps. The pieces in the bowl include Project Life cards (mostly from the Midnight set), some chalkboard flair, ribbon scraps. handmade flowers, and some die cut words from a scrappy class I took. I have papers in the kit from Love Elsie, Glitz Wild and Free, Studio Calico, Basic Grey, and several sheets of patterned cardstock from various paper pads by DCWV. I have some "messy" plans for my kit, so I included paints, spray mist, and stamps and stencils.
So, I think I have plenty of kit to keep me going for the month! I hope you will hop around to other Master Forgers' blogs to see the kits they have created this month, and we all hope you will join us and make a kit from your stash! Big or small, we welcome them all! Here is the blog hop list to see the rest of the design team inspiration:

  1. Another fabulous take on the inspiration kit this month. I love how you went with the bold and bright vibe and even included older Love, Elsie products. I shall watch with interest how you use those because I always struggled with them, no matter how much I liked them :-)

that really is a huge kit and the messy aspect sounds intriguing. Can't wait to see how that turns into pages - many of them!!!

Love it and would certainly buy your kit! :-)

    1. Thanks, Lisa! I will tell you that the best way to use those older Love, Elsie papers(at least for me) is to group them with the newest bits in my kit that coordinate-for example, I can already picture a smaller piece of that text print pink paper with the drippy looking paper from Glitz Wild and Free. And you have inspired me, as I don't think I have ever shared how I divide up my kits into pages before. I'll have to share that here!

  6. Clapping my hands, Margie! I think yours may be my personal fave :D
Hoping for lots of scrappy time for you this month as I know there will be bright fun pages out of this kit.

Your kit title is GOR-GEOUS - hope you have a plan to use it on a page!
Was this something you found like that or did you make it up from a font?

    1. Thank you so much! The kit title came from cut files that were a part of Wilna Furstenburg's Art&Design class at the old Big Picture site. I cut them a while back, and really want to make myself use them!

  7. I recognized that diagonal paper in the very first photo! Smart choice and now it's in my kit :) Thanks for helping me get a starting point going :) I ended up pulling a couple more from that paper pad too. The rest of your kit is really cute I like the choices you made and look forward to seeing what you do with it :)
