Gallery Standout Challenge

Yesterday, the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog gave us these instructions :

Mini Challenge #3: Gallery Standout Challenge
Go forth and find a gallery for inspiration and use it to create a project. Be sure to post a link to your inspiration as well as a photo of your project so we can appreciate YOU!

My Inspiration:I found this page page by "winks" on 2 Peas HERE, and it really caught my eye. It is a little different than my usual style, but the simplicity of it is just striking!

My Page:
A Close Up Of The Title:
While I loved the summer theme of the original page, I didn't have the same beautiful photo, so I improvised with what I had. I used kraft cardstock from my July kit, along with the red/cream polka dot strips by Cosmo Cricket, added in a scrap of Nook And Pantry Basic Grey patterned paper(the lacey turquoice and cream print), and a scrap of turqouise cardstock, which I punched with my tab punch. All journaling was done with a white gel pen by American Crafts, and the title was a We R Memory Keepers journaling spot, to which I added red gems from my July kit for the holly berries, red Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type stickers from my "Sweet Freedom" kit, and black Doodlebug rub-on letters.
I hope you play along with us, I love to see what inspires YOU!

4th Of July/Red, White, and Blue Page Kit

Are you up for the challenge? I was! (I love any excuse to make up a new kit, it's almost as much fun finding treasures in my stash as scrapping with them!) So, when Meridy and Bethany from the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog asked if anyone wanted to do a 4th of July page kit, I jumped on it! I was so inspired by this month's Liberty Shores Inspiration add on, that I did a page kit, then I went ahead and did a full add on too!

It's That Time Again!

It's July 6th, and that means it's time for the Master Forgers to share our versions of this month's Kit to Counterfeit!
Here is the Inspiration Kit  We Were Given to "Counterfeit", last July's Polka Dot Whimsy Kit, called "Cape Cod":

Here is my Main Kit:

In my kit this month, I tried to closely replicate the  pattern papers, using an assortment of Basic Grey Romani and Cupcake, American Crafts Heat Wave, a die cut shaped paper from Target's Dollar spot, cardstock, and GCD Studios Paris Nights ( I think that's the name of it) flocked black and cream striped paper, a couple of crochet doilies, polka dot crepe paper, buttons from Jenni Bowlin and Basic Grey, cream rose trim, ruffled white satin trim, light blue and yellow shabby seam binding, a couple of sets of Thickers, a set of stamps, a few vellum envelopes by Sticko, some Elle's Studio numbers, and an assortment of handmade and store bought flowers from my stash.

They also gave us a couple of Add-On Kits for Inspiration, and I chose to " Counterfeit" this one, called "Martha's Vineyard":

My kit, "Margie's Vineyard":

For this kit, I wasn't sure I was going to do an add on at first, because I didn't really like the colors together- but the more I looked at it, the more I liked it and wanted to try it. I just decided to soften the green and orange shades a bit.

A few more pages from my June Counterfeit Kit...

Since it is almost time for our July kit reveal, I wanted to post a few more pages that I have completed with my June kit. Here they are:

"You Are My Sunshine" Layout:
For this layout, I started with a white cardstock base, then used the sheet of Colorbok Bella Pink Flowers, which I trimmed a bit, and used bits of yelllow textured cardstock and a strip of the Basic Grey Lemonade border strips paper, and added one of the pink Prima roses from my June kit. For the title, I used a stick on tag from the K& Co. Brenda Walton stickers, and added a painted brad.

Close up look at the embellies:

 "My Silly Girls" Layout:

For this layout, I used my hot pink cardstock from my kit, Basic Grey Lemonade border strips, light blue pompom trim, my homemade bloomers and vellum butterflies, mounted on scalloped circles punched from paper scraps, yellow ric rac trim that I stapled to the page, brown Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type letters,  and cream Making Memories printed letter stickers
Close up look at my Homemade "Bloomers":

Thanks for stopping by-don't forget to enter my giveaway HERE, you only have one more week to enter!
