March is almost over, BUT...

I did make a couple of kits to scrap with this month! I made them up a couple of weeks ago, but I never got around to sharing them! So, I just wanted to let you have a look at them before I start making up kits for April!
The first kit I made up was inspired by Shimelle's Best Of Both Worlds kit for March. Since I had already purchased most of the supplies that she had in her kit, it was no sweat to pull it all together:
I made a few small substitutions (the vellum is some ancient Hot Off The Press vellum from my stash), and added in a few other bits that I had, that I felt fit well with my kit. The Maggie Holmes and Crate Paper goodies are some of my must-haves from the most recent CHA! I was lucky enough to win some of it, and some I had to buy... Here is a look at just the paper(my favorite part!):
My other kit for March was inspired by the Counterfeit Kit challenge, and their choice for March, Noel Mignon's Soda Shoppe kit:
I also had lots of these goodies, so I came up with another huge kit! Here is my kit:
A closer look at the papers:

Lots of Basic Grey, Dear Lizzy, Elle's Studio, Crate Paper, and MME The Sweetest Thing. Now, I just need to find some time to use all of these yummy, spring goodies!! Oh, yeah, and to find my pictures...
I was cleaning up one day, and I "put away" about 5 envelopes of my most recently developed photos. I "put them away" so well that I can't find them...please tell me I am not the only one who has done this, lol.  Guess I'll clean first and see if I can find them!

True Beauty

Today's project was a labor of love, a layout that I created for my oldest daughter. I am using a few current challenges that I wanted to play along with, and my "Hearts And Flowers" kit from February. I followed along with the sketch for this month from Artful Delight:

And played along with Tim Holtz's Tattered Florals challenge:
To be honest, I was a little intimidated by this contest-I have so many great ideas for projects swirling around in my brain, and the projects that have already been submitted are AH-MAZING! But, scrapbooking is what I love and do the most craft-wise, and the time is drawing down to enter. So, I cut some flowers out of paper scraps with this die (I am happy to report it worked quite well in my Cuttlebug with 2 "B" plates), and inked them up with Tattered Rose and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks, and scrunched and shaped them with my fingers.

I am also entering this layout in this week's Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Easter/Spring, since the photo was taken in the spring, and nothing says "spring" to me more than flowers!

Here is what my finished layout looks like:

Supplies used: Basic Grey, Doodlebug, Graphic 45, DCWV,and My Mind's Eye patterned paper, bling by ZVA and Want 2 Scrap, Basic Grey letter stickers and Butterfly sticker, Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die, Tumbled Glass and Tattered Rose Distress Ink and Ranger ink blending tool and pads, MME brad, and Mr. Huey's mist.

12 Tags of 2013-March

Today I am participating in Tim's tags of 2013-I was very excited to see that I had most of the supplies to make a tag similar to his tag!
Here is my version:

Killing a "Scrap Your Stash kit"

Ok, I know I promised to show you how I killed another kit! So, without further ado, here is the kit that I made from my stash, called "Evening Glamour":
And here are the pages that I made with my kit:

I added in some small bits from other kits or my stash, but they are all primarily from this kit. I used all of the papers except for scraps! Yay! There is one piece of gold shimmer cardstock in the kit that I have die cut to put on a page , but haven't scrapped yet-everything else is here!

After I made this collage, I remembered that I used various bits from this kit for my JYC pages here:

The glitziness of this kit worked well for some of these pages!

So, let me know what you think! Do you like making up kits from your stash? Do you use them? It makes scrapping so much easier for me!

Hang tight I will be back later with my take on Tim Holtz's March tag challenge!

There Is Nothing So Lovely...My Take On a Shimelle Sketch

As you may know if you follow my blog, I like to combine inspiration from all over the web when I am making my pages! The ever-inspiring Shimelle posted this sketch on her blog over the weekend:
And I loved it...unique, using diagonal sections of paper-and I absolutely loved her take on it, as well as the stunning example by the fabulous Paige Evans. (Don't just take my word for it, check it out! Now!) Which reminded me of a fun challenge that Paige had given for a Scrap Your Stash video at 2Peas: Use up those Thickers (And Lord knows I need to do that, lol!) So, I took all of the inspiration floating around in my head and came up with this page:
(Some of those Thickers were a little loose/crooked, so I took them off and re-glued before putting the page in my album-but I forgot to re-photograph the LO, so you will have to use your imagination a tiny bit, lol!) I am quite happy with how this LO turned out! Linking up to the Simon Says Stamp: Anything Goes challenge, and the Layout Love Linky on Soaphouse Mama's blog. And... this was the last page from my Evening Glamour Scrap Your Stash kit, so my next post will be about how I killed that kit ;-) ! Yay!
