For my kit, since I was on mini kit duty, I knew that I wanted to use a lot of scraps and opened packages for my kit this month. Here is the kit that I pulled from my stash:
Papers only:
Full kit:
When I first started pulling papers for my kit, I started with bright colors, a large circle print, a small floral, and a lovely spring green and teal pattern. I then pulled out my scrap bin, and pulled out yellows, blues, pinks, and a bit of green, looking for some small pieces for layering, and for a few patterns that would work as cut-aparts. Now trust me, it was so tempting to pull out fresh embellishments, but for this mini kit, I was challenging myself to use scraps and open packages , so I found lots of great opened/partially used supplies: several different types of Thickers, a couple of opened die cut packs that still have a bunch of lovely pieces inside (aren't those acetate pieces gorgeous?), puffy stickers that are almost gone, enamel bits that I have only used a few of, and some leftover gold glitter words. While the new stash is always tempting, I am actually looking forward to using up a bit of stash in this way...and I am determined to pitch it into the trash if I don't use it. And I have some really gorgeous papers in this kit that I can't wait to use, so it shouldn't be too hard.
For inspiration, I will be using the Scrap Your Scraps Series from Tori Bissell on Youtube:
And the newest issue of Scrapbooks and Cards Today:
Which is available for free online here.
These should be perfect to get my crafty mojo going!
IT's a great kit and although I also limited my kit to scraps, I simply adore the idea of limiting myself to open and almost used up embellies too! Great idea. Next time. I'll be checking out your inspirations too.
ReplyDeleteSerious paper envy going on here about that blue floral. I always love your kits, and this one is fab as well. Good for you for working on the open items first!
