Rockin' Birthday Card

Well, I've been doing girly stuff this week, so I enjoyed the switch to make a birthday card for one of my son's friends, who had a birthday party today. The card is cut from the DCWV Rock Star Stack, and I cut the guitar and rock star flaming banner from Indie Art cartridge. The music notes paper is from a huge stack of Love, Elsie papers I got at HL last year, and I cut the label shape using an svg freebie called NoteCuts from http://shortcuts.sheetloadofcards.net/.

What Every Girl Needs, More Shoes And Purses!

So, I've been testing more stuff for Denise ( http://dscrapbookingroom.blogspot.com/ ), and I have to say again (it's been said before!). That girl is fabulous! How does she come up with so many ideas? And what girl isn't a sucker for a cute handbag and shoes?
The purse is cut from Tinkering Ink patterned cardstock, and I cut the black handles and flower from some black velvet paper that I have had in my stash forever. I used the same sheet of black vevet paper to cut out the overlay for the heel of the shoe and the black velvet flower for the shoe. I used black mini brads ( for a somewhat realistic touch) at the bottom of the straps of the purse. I used a deep red cardstock from American Crafts to cut the shoe(outer layer), and the small red flower for the purse. I also cut out the shoe pattern in a zebra print paper from Hobby Lobby. I spray adhesived the back of the zebra paper (as well as my hands-things get messy when I get crafty!), and stuck it to the back of the red shoe pattern. I inked the edges and wherever else I thought needed it with black ink from Martha Stewart, folded on the score lines, attached the flowers with red glitter brads from Making Memories, and voila... a purse and shoe that I wish I could buy to wear! Thanks Denise!

Coaches fit for a princess (or three!)

So here's what I have been working on today! I have been making little treat boxes for my little princesses, testing out some svg cut patterns for the fabulous Denise. You can find out more about them on her blog here:http://dscrapbookingroom.blogspot.com/. The first "coach" on the left, I cut the white background out of some embossed wedding paper, the silver glitter overlay with DCWV Glitter Stack. I decorated the one in the middle more because I used a very lightweight iridescent paper for the intricate cut of the overlay, and (oops) left my blade pressure on my Cricut on max. So I had to get creative and hide some of my boo-boos with stickles and a little flower.
All of the "doorknobs" are by the Paper Studio, and the pink background for the last 2 "coaches" is also from the DCWV Glitter Stack. The middle "coach" overlay is an iridescent paper that has been in my stash FOREVER, and the overlay for the last one is the same embossed cardstock as the first "coach". I believe it is called the "I Do" collection from EK Success. I definantly recommend the heavier paper/cardstock for the intricate part of the "coaches".
My girls LOVED these boxes as oon as they saw them, and begged to take them to school, since they are studying "C" in Pre-K this week. Thanks, Denise!
