Thanks, Mom!

I made this card for my mom-the sweetest person I know! Truly, she is a wonderful person who always puts others first, and makes me wish I could be so selfless! The card base is Bazzill bling cs, embossed on the front panel with the Cuttlebug textile folder. The patterned paper is Basic Grey Wisteria, and the digistamp I used was the Sketchy Cosmos stamp from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Pretty Flowers set, cut out and embossed with Nestabilities.
I am entering it into the challenges at
I Love Digi (make a Thank You card)
Dare U 2 Digistamp(use Flowers)
Raise The Bar (Color Me Happy-use your favorite color-blue)

Thanks for stopping by, now head over to Lindsay and the other designers' blogs, for lots of inspiration and eye candy!

A quick card for a swap, and a SALE!

Today I am sharing a simple recipe card that I made for a swap on 2 Peas, all about strawberries! My recipe is for my Gran's shortbread. So yummy! I used the Recipe Lines digistamp from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff recipe set, a paper doily from the Dollar Tree, a square of red gingham paper, a free svg file for a strawberry that I picked up on the web, and a white flower from Plantain Schoolbook cartriidge, with the edges rolled, and a dot of yellow stickles in the center.
Now, head over to My Graphico, they are having a 15% off sale in honor of Earth Day!

As promised, here is the lineup for day 2 of the blog hop! Don't forget to leave comments for your chances to win some of Lindsay's awesome stamps!!
Start at Lindsay's blog:

My "Lindsay project" that I am sharing today is for one of the challenges at the Online Crop we are having through tomorrow (be sure to stop by, there are freebies for everyone!). This challenge was to make altered art (recycle a container!). I decided to join a swap with this project on 2 Peas. I took a 1 lb clear strawberry container, and I wanted to decorate it in a "vintage style". Basic Grey Nook and Pantry, Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Sew Pretty digistamp set, the Ribbon Corner digistamp FREEBIE and the Sewing Stuff digistamp were perfect for this project! Go grab them while they are on sale, everything is 50% off through tomorrow (Thursday April 15)! Don't miss out! Lindsay will have a copy on her blog, as well!

Ok, now for my project:

I made this layout using the Winged Things digistamp set, some yummy Prima papers and flowers, Grungeboard, and papers from C.R. Gibson's Tapestry Ruby Lemonade Collection. The tiny butterflies were made with my Martha Stewart punch and Heidi Swapp gemstones.
Here is a closer look at how I used the digistamp on this page:I printed the Filled Butterfly stamp out on light blue vellum, and sprinkled clear embossing powder on it right away, and heat embossed it with my heat tool. Then I spritzed the butterfly with Turquoise Blue Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels, and heated it again, because I am too impatient to just "let it dry". I also spritzed the Glimmer Mist on the Grungeboard swirl, dried it, and then inked the embossing and the edges with Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass ink pad.

Now, be sure to leave me a comment for a chance to win this awesome digistamp set from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff! If you want a second chance to win, grab the "I'm a Fan of Lindsay's Stamp Stuff" badge for your blog, and link it to the store here: http://www.mygrafico.com/lindsay-39-s-stamp-stuff/aff_100.html

And be sure to drop by our Crop Room on MyGraphico , because Lindsay will be giving away some freebies there for everyone, that will only be available for the 3 days of the crop. A Cheery Hello!

Springtime is one of my favorite seasons! I just love it, the rain showers, the smell of fresh flowers, and the days when the sun pokes it's head through the clouds are so nice! And going from the the drab, dreary colors of winter to the brightness and freshness of spring is just another reason to love it. Today's card was inspired by those bright colors, and yesterday's sketch at Moxie Fab World. I used the Happy Rainbow digistamp from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, her new Puddle Fun collection. Isn't this new set so happy and adorable? Lindsay has a couple of new sets in her shop, so you should definantly check it out! And don't forget to come back Tuesday, as we kick off Anniversary Week. We will have a blog hop on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with lots of fun and *Freebies* every day! You don't want to miss out! See my post below for more details! Now head over to Lindsay's blog, and the other designers, to see what they have for you today!

A "Something Blue" Bridal Shower

My *baby* sister is getting married in August, and she asked me to be the matron of honor, so of course, I had to think of the perfect bridal shower for her. Let me tell you, the logistics of being the matron of honor while I am in Tennessee and she is in Florida is a little bit tricky! But we finally worked out a date for the shower, and it was off to the races! I finally thought of doing a "Something Blue" shower, after tons of research on the internet.
First, I made the invitations. I cut the words, "Bridal Shower" with my Cricut and Sweethearts cart, and embossed aqua shimmer paper with the "Friends Forever" embossing folder for the Cuttlebug, and embossed the envelope flap with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder. Here's another photo of the invite with a couple of the favors ( I will tell you about them in a minute, bear with me!):
I decorated a clipboard for the gift list:I cut the presents from the Sweethearts Cart (after coating the clipboard with an ENTIRE can of white spray paint and clear sealant), and added an adhesive ribbon from DCWV to the bottom and tied lots of aqua and white ribbon and lace scraps to the top.
Next, I made a ton of these little favors: The white dress box is from the Tie the Knot cartridge, embossed with the Swiss Dots folder. Some tips: MAKE SURE your paper is pressed very firmly to the sticky mat before cutting- a brayer would be a great idea! I tied an aqua ribbon around the waist, and used a huge roll of pearls that I picked up at Hobby Lobby when they had their half off bridal sale to decorate the bottom of the dress, and just taped the ends around the edges of the dress. The purse favors are svgs from Dan's blog, and embossed with the Textiles Cuttlebug folder, tied with a tiny white satin ribbon.
Then I made a little lingerie gift box for the tiny blue undies I gave her:
I used the pillow box svg file from Penny Duncan's website, added a black and white sticky border strip around the middle, and tied with an aqua ribbon with black stitching from Doodlebug, and embellished with some pearl corsage pins from WalMart, and a corsage cut from Tie the Knot.
I made some gift bags for the game prizes, using some yummy satin ribbons and cuts from Tie the Knot (the scroll heart and the bell), and Sweethearts (the presents).
Here is a close up of the towel cake I made for the centerpiece. I used the Grungeflowers svg file from Dan's blog for the roses I put on top, and tied some pretty aqua satin ribbon around some plush white towels. The monogram plaque was created with the Tie the Knot cartridge and Swiss Dots embossing folder. My mom's gorgeous crystal cake stand really made it perfect.
Our cousin, Jocelyn, made the cake. It was red velvet and sooo yummy! The "pearls" in front of it are actually Sixlet candies from the wedding section of Hobby Lobby. We had a coffee punch with chocolate and vanilla ice cream in it, which everyone slurped down (3 punch bowls full!).
A side view of the cake:A picture of Jocelyn, my other sister Elisabeth (in the back), the bride-to-be, and myself.A photo of the corsage I made for her with Dan's Grungeroses svg file, paper, ribbon, and tulle. A photo of the banner that I made with the banner , monograms, and lovebird from Tie the Knot, tulle, ribbon, and I "Glimmer Misted" (yes I made that word up) the plaque in the center and embossed with Swiss Dots before attaching the lovebird.A pic of Bethany and me (I think she was very happy with the shower-which makes all of the hard work worth it!)
A photo of Bethany opening gifts -she got tons of great presents (we had a beautiful sunny day-about 72 degrees, and a fantastic turnout). Bethany and our Mom:Bethany and my oldest, Caitlin (they are so close, and you can really tell how much she loves her Aunt Beth!): All in all, It was a gorgeous day and everything went fairly smoothly-Hopefully it will be a treasured memory for my little sis!

Hippity, Hoppity, Easter's On it's Way!

Today's project is a sweet little set that I made for my swap partner in a Secret Bunny swap I am in. I was inspired to use these bright colors by this week's Tuesday Trigger at the Moxie Fab blog, and I used the sketch at 2Sketches4You for the card. You can also see some of the Tuesday Trigger inspiration in the background of the card-I used a tan card base and stamped swirls in the corner like the background of the egg photo. To make the adorable little basket, I used Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Egg Shaped Easter Basket and Chocolate Bunny svg files set(it was so quick and easy to cut and put together-cut like butter!). For the card, I used 2 of the Swirly eggs from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Cute Easter digistamp set. Now...I've got to go drop this set in the mail, and get back to finishing up my sister's bridal shower stuff...I'm on a countdown! The shower is Saturday, so start looking for pictures sometime next week!
Now "hop" over Lindsay's blog, she has an fantabulous freebie for you, and she has 3 AWESOME new digistamp sets in her shop, so take a peek (trust me, you're going to want these sets!!).Then drop by the other designers' blogs for more inspiration with these fabulous sets!
