Online Card Class (Tuesday's Technique)
The fabulous Jennifer Mcguire made a window card for our class today, using this week's color combo, and it looked really cool, so I made my own version with my nesties, a white card base, some shabby seam binding, a scrap of light sky blue card stock, and added 3 flowers from a previous CKCB kit. They were originally white, but I sprayed them with homemade shimmer mist in the colors of this week's challenge drew stems with my Sakura opaque green pen, dried them with my embossing tool, then stamped the "Smile" sentiment on the card. It's a very clean and simple card, but I really like it-I am digging these classes so far!
Week 1 Online Card Class Color Combo (Monday's challenge)
I have not really been making many cards for the past few months (just really focusing on scrapbooking instead). Since scrapbooking is my first crafty love, I was ok with that, but there is just one problem!! My card stash has been dwindling. And I really do love to make cards, so I was ecstatic when I won a spot in Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner's Online Summer Card Camp through Betsy Veldman's blog-all of these ladies are so super talented and inspiring! I am so excited to try new techniques, color combos, and more, and fill my card stash back up, hopefully with some beautiful cards!!
Here is the Color Combo we were given for this week:

Here is my card for the challenge:
The inside is stamped with the sentiment, "Have a Fabulous Birthday". This color combo is not at all what I would have normally used, but I love how it turned out! Most of the supplies used came from the kit I put together for myself for June (see details HERE ). I started with a white card base, added a scrap of blue patterned paperstock from Making Memories, a leftover scrap of DCWV Mango Frost glitter paper, along with purple and hot pink cardstock strips which I punched with my Martha Stewart scalloped border punch, and layered (kind of reminds me of ruffles). Then I tied a piece of hand-dyed shabby seam binding (purple) around the top of the colored papers, and made a double bow, stamped and fussy cut some stems and leaves with the Basic Grey stamp set from my June kit and Martha Stewart pigment ink, added tiny pearls to the flower centers, and then I took a hot pink Prima rose and added it to the top of the bow and leaves. And just like that, I have used up some scraps and made a birthday card(which I never have enough of) for my stash!

It's Time for the Master Forger's Blog Hop!
Can you believe that the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog has been going strong for 6 months already? I am so glad that you are joining us for our blog hop this month, and if you make it all the way to the end of this post, I have a giveaway! Here is the challenge we were given for the blog hop:
I used both of my June kits for this one, along with a sketch from Sketch Inspirations (see side bar for link). The background paper is a sheet of Mango Frost DCWV, the light blue print is Making Memories, and I used the light aqua Bazzill Bling for the circle (cut out by my Cricut), most of the stickers are by Sticko from my Summer add-On, with the exception of the Thicker letters from my Main kit and the chipboard KI stick on label, on which I used one of the Hampton Arts stamps from my Summer kit for the word "Bliss"-since the chipboard was coated, I stamped it with black StaZon ink.I also used a yellow brad from my main kit, and a tag from my May kit leftovers. All in all, I am pretty happy with the way this layout turned out, and it brought back a lovely memory for me!
Here are close ups of the details:

Get In Shape!
At least, that is the challenge that was given to us by the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog. As soon as I saw that challenge, I thought of the label shaped die-cut paper that I had in my June main kit! I was inspired by another DT member to try pink and kraft together, and then I had a jumping off point.
Here Is My Layout:
I used the Making Memories Artisan Love notes Die Cut paper, a couple of labels from the Making Memories border and tag stickers, mounted on cardstock scraps, a strip of reddish pink cardstock and a strip of scalloped patterned paper from my scraps, kraft cardstock from my stash, and then I had an idea that I had seen and wanted to try for a while, to make a mini banner from Tim Holtz tickets. I used some hand-dyed shabby seam binding, the tickets (which I had inked with Tattered Rose Distress Inks), and various bits and bobs from my June kit and May kit-a tiny felt "Bloomer", a few pink rhinestones, a couple of tiny flowers and ribbon roses, and a couple of hammered Making Memories brads from my stash.A Close Up View of my Tim Holtz Ticket Mini Banner:
Thanks for stopping by, hope you are enjoying your summer as much as my kiddos are!(Tons of water play, sleeping in, waffles for breakfast, trips to the library...) Be sure to stop back over to my blog on the 27th for the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Hop!

Ad Inspiration Challenge
The Counterfeit Kit Club gave us this challenge:
Mini Challenge #1: Ad Challenge
Find an ad from a magazine, television, newspaper, ect. and use it to inspire a project! (Hint: if you have a favorite brand/company, you can google their name plus ads and it will bring up pictures for you to see.)
Here is my inspiration:
The colors reminded me so much of my Summer Add-On Kit, the water droplets reminded me of these photos from the spray park, and I thought that the name of the fabric softener, "Simple Pleasures" would be the perfect title!
My Layout:
I used one sheet of cream cardstock from my stash, the Mango Frost Orange Glitter Swirl cardstock from DCWV, handmade flower and butterfly, label and border sticker from Making Memories, all from my Main Counterfeit Kit for June, and Green Thickers from my May Boy Add-On.
Be sure to play along with the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog for a chance at this month's AWESOME prize! Read about it here:

Here a couple of layouts that I made using the May Mothers and Daughters Counterfeit kit, and a few rub-ons and bits from my May Main Kit that I made up. I also used a couple of sketches I found last month from Sketchy Thursdays and Artful Delight. I made them a little too late for the challenges, but still love the pages that resulted!

I Just Couldn't Resist!!
I kind of had a crazy month in May, with my old car dying, the kids getting out of school, and all of the end of school activities, buying a new van (Yay!), and then topping it all off with an abcess tooth and some of the worst pain I have ever experienced, I still have alot of my Counterfeit Kits for May left over. So, I was only going to make the main Counterfeit Kit this month, with no add-ons,but then I saw so many cool Summery add-ons, and I have so many summery pictures to scrap, that I had to make a "Summer" themed add on of my own! (I still plan to use up as much of my May kits as possible, too!)
My Summer Add-On Kit:
I included in this kit:
1 sheet hot pink Glazed Bazzill
1 sheet American Crafts Heat Wave patterned paper (the ice cream bars-what's summer without ice cream?)
4 Sheets of DCWV Mango Frost patterned cardstock
Primas-some blue hydrangea singles and summery colored roses
handmade honeysuckle colored fabric flower (this is the color of the year, and I love it!)
Prima centers gems
Basic Grey Buttons
2 sets Soft Spoken summer/beach themed stickers, 1 partial set Making Memories summer sticker words
2 sets unused stamps (Basic Grey Junebug flowers,Hampton Arts)
light blue pom pom trim

"Forging" into June...
It' s time again!! Time to Counterfeit a current kit club, with supplies entirely from our own stash! The kit club that Meridy and Bethany (from the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog) chose for us to "counterfeit" this month is the June kit from Burlap and Buttercups:
The Burlaps and Buttercups kit:
My Counterfeit Kit:
The Burlap and Buttercups kit mostly focused on Basic Grey's new line, Hello Luscious, which I love, but I don't have any of it yet, so I improvised, and still dug into a good bit of my Basic Grey stash. I also love those Jenni Bowlin Embellished vellum butterflies, and the Basic Grey Bloomers, and didn't have them, so I made my own of both. I cut the butterflies out by hand using a template *hint: watch the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog this month,we will be sharing the link for the butterfly template. My Homemade "Embellished Butterflies":
I cut them out of random scraps of yellow vellum that I had, mostly from an ancient book of 8 1/2 x 11 Colored Vellum from Hot Off The Press, and added stick on pearls from the Paper Studio.
My Homemade "Bloomers":
I made these by layering felt and paper flowers from my stash, mainly from American Crafts and Making Memories, and sewing buttons in the centers, trying to keep similar colors as the ones in the kit.
