March Counterfeit Kit Challenge Member Blog Hop

Welcome to the March member's blog hop for the Counterfeit Kit Challenge!I have gotten lots of scrapping done this month-this kit really worked for me. Here's a reminder of what I started with:

The challenge that I took for this blog hop was
Challenge #1 Base a project on something spotted on Pinterest. But, here's the twist, it can't be a craft project (so no layouts, minis or mixed media as inspiration.)

I immediately thought of mood boards, since I love them and pin them for inspiration all of the time. I found this one on my Pinterest: Inspired By Mood Boards board, and it suited my kit, so I knew it would work:
It was actually a mood board to inspire a kit from Studio Calico a year or two ago.  I loved the colors and whimsy of it, and the patterns were very reminiscent of the ones in my kit. Here is the resulting layout:
I think that this layout captures the whimsy and colors of the mood board pretty well, and also carries out the same fresh spring feeling of the mood board. I also got a bunch of the bits and pieces of this kit down on the page here:

If you have come here via Elaine's blog, you are on the right track, and you should head over to Lisa's blog next. If you are stopping by my blog first, here is the whole list-you should definitely drop by the other contributor's blogs and see how they are using their kits!

  1. Super page - love the placement of the title and the hearts

  2. Such a happy spring page! I like the diagonal design and that little cluster at the top with the cloud, heart and strawberry is very sweet too.

  3. I love your kit! And this strawberry page is great. Where is your festival? We also have a strawberry festival in a neighboring city of mine, Portland, TN. Ahh I love how the strawberry die brings it all together!!

    1. Humboldt Tn-it's the West TN strawberry Festival. Nice to "meet" a neighbor!

  4. Great page and you're right about how you sum up the mood board inspiration in your page. There's a lot of spring whimsy in there. I love the little woodgrain hearts and the ribbon (I always forget to use that). Great page and the pink paper is gorgeous. I think I need some...

  5. Wow Margie this is such a cute layout :) That is a fun mood board to use too :) Love the touch of ribbon you used in the one cluster and love the other clusters :) Not to many Strawberry festivals in my neck of the woods :) More Apples and Cheese, but we grow our own strawberries :) a couple of months away :)

  6. Great colours on this, they suit your photo. Your strawberry embellishment clusters are cute too.

  7. I loved that little surprise pop of green on the mood board & how you brought it in with that sweet little floral border at the bottom. What a great throwback photo of you!

  8. Love the subtle colour palette and all the layering. Great job!

  9. Nice! Love the titling and your work with the journal cards. Really nice layout!

  10. Absolutely stunning! Love the interpretation of the elements from the mood board - and how perfectly it worked for your kit! x

Thank you for your comments, they make my day!
