Counterfeit Kit Club Blog Hop

I have been having a ball playing along with the Counterfeit Kit Blog this month, so I was excited to read about this challenge. And fashion is very inspiring to me, so I loved the theme: Card/Fashion/Bling! I did get a little carried away, but I made myself stop at 3 ( A girl has to clean the house sometimes, lol!).

Fashion Inspiration:
I was inspired by the colors (soft pink and yellow, with a pop of black) of this pink floral dress from Ruche The card:

Rehearsal Dinner layout

And guess what? I used my Kit for this one too! I used the lined Creative Imaginations scalloped paper for the background, part of the scrap of Glazed black Bazzill for a photo mat/pocket for the to go menu and beverage napkin that I had from the restaurant. To add a little something extra to the page, I cut these awesome scrolly "clock hands" from the Glazed Bazzill cardstock, using the Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Steampunk SVG File set (so many uses for this fantastically cool set!) I attached the "clock hands" with little BoBunny I Candy Brads. I also used the "Love Bingo" card, painted black doily, Red Making Memories Puffy Alphas, and the black and cream Handmade flower, all from my kit, also! That handmade flower was one that I made using Lindsay's Stamp Stuff 3-D Posies SVG set, shown below:

Stretching My "Counterfeit Kit" Out!

My first layout is based on the sketch that was given to us at the Counterfeit Sketch Blog:

Sorry my photos are a little dark- that's what I get when I take photos in the middle of the night, lol!!
The second layout is not based on a sketch, just whipped some goodies from my kit together, adding as little as possible. I love this photo of me and my three youngest from a few years ago at Thanksgiving. And this last layout is based on the guest DT sketch at Sketchy Thursdays:

Ooh La La...

Is the name of the svg file set from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff that I used to create this sexy Valentine's Day card for my hubby! But- it could also be used for a bachelorette party invite, or a lingerie shower... Anyway, I cut it out of black Swiss Dots Bazzill Cardstock for the outer layer, wedged half of a white doily that I ruffled for the white peek-a-boo lace and cut red cardstock for the inner layer, and punched holes with my Crop-A-Dile Big Bite (any hole punch would work), and "laced up" the corset card with sheer red ribbon. The background you see in the photo is from Lindsay's Bold Black And White digipapers, printed out on red cardstock.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today, now head over to Lindsay and the rest of the DT's blogs for a freebie and lots of eye candy!

Teddy Bear Love! * Scroll Down for Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Post!*

My twin girls have a deep love for their teddy bears, and I wanted to record these memories for them- My Counterfeit Kit(scroll down to see it) and some sketches made it sooo much easier!!
Natalie And Teddy: The first layout was inspired by the cover of February's Scrapbooks,Etc. I used the yellow patterned paper from Webster's, a piece of the yellow glitter cardstock to mount my photo, a couple of my handmade rosette flowers-I just added some BoBunny decorative brads to the centers to tie the color scheme together, added a couple of border strips, a tab, "LOVE" letter stickers, and a journaling spot from the Creative Imaginations sticker sheet.
Cecilia and Snuggles:
For this layout,I started with this week's sketch from Sketch Inspirations. I used my green paper lace cut with SCAL, mounted on a sheet of white cardstock, with a scrap of the Making Memories Battenberg paper (polka dot side) and another scrap of the front side of the same paper. I used a vintage image from my Add-On Kit, my red handmade ribbon flowers, a cut up border strip for the flourish and top of the vintage image, and added some of the Queen &Co. pearls to the flower centers, and one of the journaling cards, a ticket, and some of the Puffy Alpha Stickers.

Airplane Fun

Since I made my counterfeit kit, I have gotten ALOT of scrapbooking done (for me)! I have gotten 3 pages done in the last 2 days-and a lot more quickly, too! And, I must admit that I am one of the messiest scrapbookers ever-I usually have to pull out everything I own to make sure that I don't forget something, or that I use all of the right products, etc.If I limit myself to using only the kit, this really helps with that! For the page I am sharing today, I made myself use only my kit, with the exception of the paper scraps that I used to cut out my airplane, the letter stickers, and the white brads. I used the current sketch from the Page Maps blog, the polka dot paper is the back of the Making Memories Battenberg sheet, mounted on the label shaped packaging from the Jenni Bowlin Chipboard buttons, which I also used on the layout, mounted with red baker's twine, along with red Glazed Bazzill, lined Sassafrass paper, a border sticker strip from the Creative Imaginations sheeta Jenni Bowlin journaling spot, and a couple of the Martha Stewart labels. And the best part-I got another great memory recorded!!The airplane cut out is an svg file from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Up, Up, And Away clip art and svg file set. While you are in her shop, be sure to look around, she has lots of new files and freebies!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today, be sure to come back tomorrow to have a look at another layout that I made with my Counterfeit Kit!

Counterfeit Kit Club

Are you like me?? Do surf the web and see the beautiful projects that other scrapbookers make, using products from various kit clubs, and think, " Wow! I wish I had the room/money to join that club!" ? Well, here's the answer to that: Shop from your own stash!!
When I was surfing 2 Peas In a Bucket a few days ago, I ran across a new challenge that was being set up, geared towards saving money and using our stash. The idea is to "copycat" or "lift" a current kit, "shopping" through your own stash and handmaking embellishments, being creative to use what you have. Well, it sounded perfect to me, 'cause my husband is always joking about my scrapbook stuff "creeping out"and taking over the living room. So, maybe this will help me pare my stash down a little bit! This month, the inspiration was the JBS monthly kit for December and Add-On. I loved them, so I used the color inspiration, and tried to match the kit piece-for-piece. I think I succeeded pretty well!!Here's my kit:
1 Partial Sheet Battenburg Making Memories Love Notes paper
1 Sheet Webster's Pages "...little nibbles" Sweet As Cherry Pie paper
1 Sheet Dark Green Wasau Shimmer cardstock that has been cut into a paper lace with my Cricut
1 Sheet Basic Grey Chatsworth Porcelain collection
1 Sheet Webster's Pages "...fly a kite" Sweet As Cherry Pie Collection
1 Sheet Pink Paislee "Parachute Pants" Pop Fashion Collection
1 Sheet Sassafrass Lass Bungle Jungle lined paper
1 Sheet scalloped cream lined Creative Imaginations paper
1 Sheet each yellow and green glitter cardstock (from a stack from Wal Mart)
1 Sheet each red and black glazed Bazzill cardstock
Embellishments:
2 Cardstock sticker sheets from Creative Imaginations
1 Tim Holtz grungeboard hinge (instead of the large photo turn)
3 large chipboard snowflakes from Autumn Leaves
American Crafts Thickers foil Tinsel Accents (from Big Lots)
Making Memories red Puffy Alpha stickers
Martha Stewart red label stickers (another Big Lots find)
K&Co. embossed label stickers
2 small and 1 large black doilies (they were gold, and white-but I SPRAY PAINTED them!!) How awesome an idea is that?!! Thank you to the pea who suggested it!!
Lollipop flowers that I recieved from a 2 Peas Swap
red and green baker's twine

1 red crepe paper Poppy flower handmade by me

The coolest part of this whole kit? It was made up ENTIRELY of my stash!! The only thing I bought was some cream colored watercolor paper (3 packs for 3.77!) to print on. Now, I gotta get to work using this awesome kit!!
