Inspired By Shimelle kit

Over at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog, we were given a different type of inspiration this month! Here is what they challenged us to do:

June 2012 Inspiration Kit

Our June 2012 Inspiration Kit has a bit of a different twist this month. It is inspired by Shmielle Laine in this video and by this thread on the Two Peas message board and by this "Inspired by Shimelle" Challenge blog post by Jenn Smith-Sloane.

Let me explain...rather than using a specific "inspiration kit", we are going to give you a list of supplies to gather. You can use any color scheme, theme, etc that you would like. As always, this list is not set in stone, if there is something on this list that you don't have (or don't like) feel free to substitute for something that you already have in your stash. The main goal here is still the same a usual..."shop your stash", put together a lovely kit, and USE the kit up!!!

If perhaps, this feels too overwhelming to you, you can always use one of our Design Team member's kits to counterfeit, they will all be revealed tomorrow.

Here is the master list of supplies for your kit...

  • 10 sheets patterned paper
  • 8 sheets cardstock
  • 2 alphabet sets
  • 2 stamp sets
  • 4 journaling spots
  • 3 types of "choose your own" style embellishments (flowers, border strips, ribbon, anything you like)
  • 1 roll washi tape
  • 1 "old" embellishment
  • 1 messy item (paint, embossing, mists, etc)
  • 1 other item of your choice

I was very inspired by this, and loved finding this video and challenge!! Without further ado, here is my kit for the challenge, "Papa's Pocketwatch":

  1. I think the name of your kit is perfect. I love those papers, and your surprise was well . . . at little surprising. I am looking forward to your pages.

  2. I saw your kit and sighed....just lovely :0) I can't wait to see what you do. This is a kit that I would have to stroke for a few days!! I love masculine papers but with all girls (and 2 of them insisting on pink!) there isn't a lot of boy stuff in my life. lol

  3. Oh! I love the masculine feel and the name just makes me smile! Can't wait to see what you do!

  4. Papa's Pocketwatch is my favorite kit name this month. I love the colors and your full kit. It looks like a small kit even though you included everything.

  5. Those colors are right up my alley - great set of papers! And what a great idea to add some digi stuff. Have a great month!

  6. Gorgeous. Love the kit name and your surprise item is so clever!!!

  7. Such a lovely kit. Nice, earthy colors. Love the name you picked!

  8. Love the combination of the blues and browns. So warm and comforting...just like a Papa. My kids call their grandfather this :)

  9. Loving your kit! Can't wait to see all the great things that you create!

  10. I love those pretty blues in this kit! Gorgeous!
