Kill A Kit: January Edition

With the addition of the pages that I shared yesterday, I have used up all of the full sheets of paper from my January kit. When I get to that point, I basically consider that kit to be "killed". With the massive amount of stash I pulled for myself for my (3) January kits, I felt quite proud of that accomplishment!

Here's a reminder of my January kits:

Here's another look at the layouts that I made from these kits:

So got 9 layouts out of these kits, and I was happy to use up some really old or previously ignored stash, such as those huge letters (the white metal ones and pink chipboard ones). I used the stitching template on a couple of the layouts, lots of the Studio Calico woodgrain chipboard cameras, several of the old Upholstery brads from Making Memories, some washi tape (at least some from each roll!), at least a few stamps from each stamp set. most of the Shimelle layered chipboard and some of the Shimelle cork stickers-I struggled with these a little bit, because some of them are just so big, they are harder to use for me. I'm not giving up on the though, I love the look of them, so I will look for some inspiration on her blog and Pinterest to hopefully give me some inspiration for using those bigger cameras and phrases up. I only used one of the Heidi Swapp arrows with the blue Distress Stain. I actually threw away the Spun Sugar Distress Stain, because I tried to color something with it, and it didn't look or smell right. It had almost a sour smell, and didn't color the item I was trying to color. I didn't know that stuff could go bad, so I am curious if any of you have had Distress Stain go bad on you before?
I didn't use any of the rub-ons this time around, but did use up most of the little plastic pieces from Heidi Swapp, a few pieces of the embossed chipboard, most of the Teresa Collins die cuts, most of the canvas stickers from Dear Lizzy, most of the October Afternoon pop drops, most of the Studio Calico brads...and none of the colored Studio Calico cameras, as they seem to have disappeared, and I forgot about them. So that's 2 kits in a row with a disappearing item. There must be a crafty bandit in my house ;-) . Or I am putting them up in the wrong kits...Oh well, tomorrow will be cleaning day at my house, since there are always piles of laundry and floors that need scrubbing after several snow days. Perhaps I will find them then.

  3. These LO's are beautiful!! I have those large chipboard letters (Pressed Petals or something like that???) too. Mine are almost gone but I bought several white sets so I could paint or color them. I wish I would have not been such a hoarder earlier in my scrappy days. LOL. Who am I kidding? I still do this. 1. You rock the card making/kit using up! I always intend to make cards with the scraps but rarely actually do it!
