Feeling Patriotic (or...Challenge Bonanza!)

I was feeling patriotic today, and I wanted to meet some challenges on some blogs that I frequent, so this little 4th of July kit is what I came up with. The challenge over at Cupcake crafts was to use this sketch to make a card:

I also wanted to meet the challenge over at Just Magnolia , so I used this sweet little Tilda stamp, mounted on a free svg shape that I got from Susan Bluerobots' blog , which I cut out of a scrap of navy cardstock, which I mounted on the blackout version of the same cut from a scrap of DCWV white Glitter cardstock, (which was left over from the Spark Latch box below) and mounted that on a square cut out from The Patriotic Card Kit from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff. Then I mounted it all on the 6x6 card that I cut from the cardsock leftover from the Patriotic Nut Cup. So, since I used all of those paper scraps AND digital images (The Patriotic Card Kit, and the 4th of July Bunting), I fulfilled the Digital Tuesday Challenge!

The Spark Latch box:

I found the SCUT to cut this box at : http://www.scrappingtable.com/shapes.html under "boxes". I cut it from White glitter cardstock cut from DCWV's Glitter stack, and decorated it with the 4th of July bunting digistamp, which I hand colored using my BIC markers, Copic markers, White Uniball Signo pen, and Diamond Glitter Stickles on the star. I added white eyelets to the ends of the bunting, and threaded a sheer red ribbon through, repeating all the way around the box.

The Patriotic Nut Cup, which I found by going to the site linked above and clicking on "cups": Thanks for looking! Now hurry on over to the other designer's blogs, because one of them has a free digistamp for you for one week only!

Happy hunting!

Card for Teacher...Just Magnolia challenge

I cut the borders and scalloped oval behind Tilda with my Cricut and SCAL. The flowers are by Making Memories, the gemstones are by The Paper Studio. I inked the edges of the scalloped oval and the borders, and stamped the Autumn leaves flourish, and the No.1 Teacher Sentiment by Studio G. I colored the Sweet Tilda image using Prang art brush markers and Copics for the skin, and added the highlights with a white Uniball Signo pen. Thanks for looking!

Card for Just Magnolia challenge

I ran across a new challenge blog, Just Magnolia, and I had to play along. Here's my entry for this week's sketch!

The flowers and brads are from Making Memories, I used stamps by Magnolia (of course ;) ), and Inkadinkado's Cupcake set. I cut the label shapes with a free svg file I snagged from Sheetload of Shortcuts, one a 1/2 inch larger than the other. The gemstone circle, and the ribbon trim are from Wal Mart. I used Tim Holtz's "Old Paper" and "Walnut Stain" Distress Ink pads. I colored Tilda with colored pencils (good ol' Crayolas!) and added Stickles to the cupcake's sprinkles, and Tilda's bow on her hat.

Thanks for looking!

Cute Card Thursday

The challenge at Cute Card Thursday this week was "Foral Fantasy", and I had the freebie cutting file fromhttp://svgcuts.com/blog for this Tulip Card, and this sweet little Tilda image. I colored the image mostly with a few Prang Art Brush pens, and tiny bit of it was done with Copics (basically just the skin). And Diamond stickles for her wings. Haven't decided what I'll do with it yet, which is why there is no sentiment yet. Check out the challenge (and all of the incredible cardmakers who submit to it) at http://cutecardthursday.blogspot.com/.
