Card for Mojo Monday and Lindsay's Stamp Stuff

For today's card, I decided to use the sketch from Mojo Monday for this week, and the Magnolia #2 digistamp from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff. I have had this image colored for awhile, just waiting for inspiration to strike...then I thought about these beautiful papers from Basic Grey's Wisteria line... and I think they go together beautifully. And of course, being the southern girl that I am, magnolias are near and dear to my heart. I started with a plum colored cardstock base, cut the card front rectangle from the Wisteria paper, cut a square of cornflower blue cardstock, rounded the edges with a Fiskars corner rounder squeeze punch, taped it to the "leaf texture" Fiskars texture plate, rubbed with the texturing tool, flipped it over and applied it to the card. I added the digistamped image with pop dots, used my Martha Stewart simple scallop punch to make 3 borders from cardstock and iridescent vellum, and layered them on top of one another. I tied a lavender satin ribbon around the card front and then glued it to the card base. I haven't decided what occasion to use it for yet...so I will add the sentiment when I decide. Maybe a birthday or thank you card?

Halloween with Lindsay's Stamp Stuff (and the Cricut)

It's a Halloween "Spooktacular" with us at Lindsay's Stamp Stuff this week! I made this cool Halloween centerpiece- out of an old ice cream tub! I saved it, washed it out, and stuffed it full of crumpled newspaper, then spray painted it black with some extremely cheap (less than a dollar) black spray paint, and streaked a little white through the newspaper for a more spooky, dimensional look. I colored and hand cut The Haunted House digistamp and a Cute Witch digistamp, both from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff,the Cute Halloween Set ,and then I used my Cricut and the Paper Doll Dress Up cart to cut the Spooky Trees, Black Cat, Spiderweb, and the Adorable ghost that is peeking out from behind the Haunted House. I layered a couple of ribbons, and added some Harry the Spider digistamps(also in this set) that I colored and flocked the legs, and also some silver glitter Lightning Bolt cuts from the Indie Art cartridge.

A Card for my Hubby...

Yesterday was my husband 37th Birthday (Happy Birthday, Honey!), and this is the card that I made for him. I stamped Stampabilities "Royal Flush" stamp with Ladybug Red Momento Ink, and Tuxedo Black on white cardstock, and then sprayed with a clear acrylic HiShine Glaze. I took a white card base, and punched the edge with my Martha Stewart Simple Scallop Punch. Then I used DTP (Direct To Paper) inking with the Tuxedo Black. I added the word "Lucky!" cut out from Indie Art Cartridge at 1", and also the shadow of the same cut. On the inside, I wrote "Lucky me, that is..." .
Oh, and I did this by candlelight! The power was out for 3+ hours, so I did the best I could with what I had..."Lucky" I had already cut out the sentiment, huh?

Another Christmas card...

This card is made using my Cricut...did I mention that I love my bug? I cut the card itself with one of the hordes of svg files I have collected, and attached some ribbon that I found at Wal Mart last year and loved.I inked the edges of my card with Brilliance Moonlight White ink, to give the card a kind of a "frosty feel". Then I cut the snowman from Doodlecharms out of brown cardstock for the regular cut, then for the shift cut, I cut it out of DCWV white glitter cardstock (I love it because the glitter doesn't come off everywhere, and I have had success cutting it with my Cricut). I cut the glitter stock using my Deep Cut Blade, set at a speed of 2 and pressure 4. I also cut the itty bitty snowflakes (that I added to the top of the Merry Christmas tag) out of the DCWV cardstock and using the Doodlecharms cartridge. The Merry Christmas plaque was cut out using Storybook cartridge, the "Happily Ever After" plaque, the accent/frame cut and the accent/blackout cut, then used the "Merry Christmas" sentiment from some Martha Stewart stamps I picked up last year, and stamped it with Brilliance Galaxy Gold. The snowman's scarf was a scrap of red velvet ribbon that I tied around his neck, and frayed the edges by making little snips with my Cutterbee scissors, and running my fingernail over it.
