Beware!!

For this card, I decided to use this week's sketch from Card Positioning Systems (I flipped it), and I did a tall halloween card to meet the challenges on the Caardvarks blog and Cupcake Crafts blog. The very cool crow image is a digistamp from the Creepy Crows Collection at Lindsay's Stamp Stuff. I printed it twice on white card stock, colored one with chalk, and cut the other one out ( around the branches, etc) with my Cutterbee scissors-you could use a Xacto knife if you prefer. I then sprayed the top layer with an acrylic shine spray. I let it dry, then mounted it on top of the other Crow digistamp with pop dots. I tied an orange ribbon around the bottom of the Crow Stamp, then adhered it to the purple shimmer card I cut out of Wasau paper, added a black vinyl Thickers swirl, and a "Beware" sticker from a sheet of shickers from Target's Dollar Spot, and inked the edges of the card with Graphite Black ink from Brilliance ink to finish off the spooky look. Another Christmas card...

This card is made using my Cricut...did I mention that I love my bug? I cut the card itself with one of the hordes of svg files I have collected, and attached some ribbon that I found at Wal Mart last year and loved.I inked the edges of my card with Brilliance Moonlight White ink, to give the card a kind of a "frosty feel". Then I cut the snowman from Doodlecharms out of brown cardstock for the regular cut, then for the shift cut, I cut it out of DCWV white glitter cardstock (I love it because the glitter doesn't come off everywhere, and I have had success cutting it with my Cricut). I cut the glitter stock using my Deep Cut Blade, set at a speed of 2 and pressure 4. I also cut the itty bitty snowflakes (that I added to the top of the Merry Christmas tag) out of the DCWV cardstock and using the Doodlecharms cartridge. The Merry Christmas plaque was cut out using Storybook cartridge, the "Happily Ever After" plaque, the accent/frame cut and the accent/blackout cut, then used the "Merry Christmas" sentiment from some Martha Stewart stamps I picked up last year, and stamped it with Brilliance Galaxy Gold. The snowman's scarf was a scrap of red velvet ribbon that I tied around his neck, and frayed the edges by making little snips with my Cutterbee scissors, and running my fingernail over it.

Cowboy Cutie!

Isn't he the CUTEST Cowboy you've ever seen? I made this page for week 26 of 52 Sketches, 52 Weeks. This is one of my favorite pictures that I have ever taken of my son-he usually has that big cheeseball grin (my fault, I know, I am paparazzi Mommy!). Anyway, I love how this photo from last Halloween came out. I used a white textured cardstock background, inked the edges with black Graphite Brillance ink pad, then I attached the 2 pieces of red bandana print paper. I cut the barbed wire with my Cricut and an svg file from Dan's blog (SVG Masks). I matted the photo on black cardstock, and attached some round adhesive backed studs that I got from Walmart a loooong time ago. For the pocket, I printed the Denim Pocket digistamp from Lindsay's StampStuff onto denim print paper. The stitching didn't show up enought for me, so I traced the stitch marks with a red marker. The tag is blank Grungeboard by Tim Holtz, which I used a template to trace and hand cut. I then used red "Ladybug" Momento ink to color the tag, and a Graphite Brilliance ink pad to ink the edges. I wrote my journaling by hand with a black pen, then braided raphia for the tie. I cut a little green cactus with my Cricut, stuck the edge under the bottom piece of patterned paper, then used Making Memories black polka dot Puffy Alpha letter stickers for the title.
