March CKC Kit, Welcome Sunshine

Welcome to the March Counterfeit Kit Challenge Design Team reveal! I was so happy when Bethany sent us this warm and happy kit from A Piece Of Cake Designs as our inspiration kit for this month:

I loved the warm, bright colors,as I am more than ready for springtime and sunshine. I am calling my kit, "Welcome Sunshine"

Here is a closer look at the papers I included in my Counterfeit kit (hint:you are even getting a sneak preview of one of my forgeries for this month-can you guess which one it is?)

I have some newer (to me) products and some older products included in my kit this month, just the way I like it!

We are also sharing our best counterfeiting secrets today-here's mine:
My tip would be check your stash before you buy anything new-or even counterfeit anything! When I first started counterfeiting I was making all sorts of embellishments to exactly match the kit to copy, and then I found that I was having lots of leftovers, like die-cuts, etc, and I already had packages of beautiful pre-made die cuts that were going unused. So, fast forward to today, when I am making my kits, I always check my stash to see if I either have something I have been dying to use or something similar to the inspiration kit before I make make anything. Of course, if I absolutely love what's in the kit, and I want to make a knock-off, I do, but, make them in much smaller quantities now. Just enough to fill the craving.

Supplies included in my Counterfeit Kit:
Patterned Paper:
Basic Grey Marrakech Vanilla Chai
Cosmo Cricket Sweet Disposition You& Me
large and small floral prints from Colorbok Beach House paper pad

I also "forged" the cork tags, doilies, and one of the patterned papers-come back on the fourth for a look at those and how I did it. I hope you've enjoyed my kit, now hop around and see what the other designers have "cooked up", it's sure to be a treat!

  1. Another great counterfeit! These colours and products this month have certainly inspired us all to create simply fabulous kits and this one is no exception! I'd buy this one in a flash and smile every time I used it!

I'm guessing your forgery is the woodgrain paper and I love how rich in colour it is - so I'll be checking back on that one for sure.

There's so much to love in your kit and I especially love the rich colours you've included. I just mentioned on Lynnette's post that I am missing orange in my stash - love the rich tones you have here.

Looking forward to seeing your forgeries and what you create with this really lovely collection of supplies

  2. Terrific mix and counterfeit! I just keep going back to your images to try to figure out the Chatterbox. I still have a bit of paper from their "walls" collection but can rarely find a way to use them. However, I feel like the papers are neutral and attractive enough that someday they will find the right contemporary mix to jazz them up. Whichever one yours is, it does not look dated! It blends right in.
I really love your fun patterns and especially your wonderful embellishments. I hope to see many of them in projects this month!

    1. Thank you! The Chatterbox is the pale blue striped paper, third from the right on the top row in the patterned paper picture. I remember what a big deal those Chatterbox papers were back in the day!
