Counterfeit Kit Club Blog Hop

Thanks for joining us for the 2nd Counterfeit Kit Club Blog hop! I am always excited to see what they have for us-there are always so many great challenges, and it is so inspiring to see so many people using their stash and making the supplies they already have working for them! The sketch below was taken from Scraps Of Darkness kit club, which was also our inspiration kit for the month. My layout was made up almost entirely from my February Counterfeit Kit. My favorite part of this layout is the photo of my mom and my girls, because I really think that it showcases the sweet and precious relationship that they share! For the layout, I used the Making Memories Love Notes red glitter printed cardstock, the backside of one of my GCD Studios sheets, cut the circle out of the center of the red glitter sheet, made my own roses out of burgundy cardstock, an svg file from Dan's blog (mycraftylife), the little golden frame, the "love" sheet from Making Memories Vintage Findings, the key and lock grungeboard, which I heat embossed with gold ink and embossing powder, and attached the lock with a couple of Basic Grey Painted Brads.I also used a grungeboard flourish, which I painted with Barn Door Crackle Paint by Ranger, and inked with red and black ink. The label is an American Crafts Remarks sticker, and I used a strip of the polka dot side of the GCD Studios paper in place of the fuzzy trim. I thought it all was lacking a tiny bit of "special something", so I put Glossy Accents on the edges of the rose petals, and added two sizes of red glitter.
Scroll down to see the rest of the layouts that I have made so far from my kit!
Now, you don't want to miss the rest of the hop! The next blog you will be visiting is Marlynn .
