Joy Rides! ( and a freebie for SCAL)

I made this layout for my little girls, using a fab sketch by Julie Bonner for the Magpie Club. Lindsay's Stamp Stuff has a new set of digistamps, On The Line, with some of the cutest little banners in it! I couldn't wait to do something with them, and the sketch fit them perfectly. I printed the digis on various colors and patterns of paper and vellum, and shaded them with my copics (just on the stitching and the ruffles). There was a good bit of "fussy cutting" required, but I made my hubby help ;-) .
I made the title in SCAL, which you can download HERE.
After I cut it out, I ran it through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots embossing folder, and inked it with white ink to make it stand out. I did stretch it to make a double page spread, 'cause I have soooo many photos to scrap!
The tag that I journaled on was a stamp (clear acrylic) from Autumn Leaves, The patterned papers are from GCD Studios, and the round "lollipop" flower/"ferris wheel" accents are "flowers" that I received from a swap that I was in on 2Peas.

Here are the challenges that I am entering this page into:
Magpie Club: sketch
Daisy Doodles: Summertime +digital image
Robyn's Fetish Challenge: Be creative (open)
Fresh Brewed Designs: Anything Goes
The Little Paper Shop: Bright and Colorful
One Stitch At a Time: Seeing double (2 of something on project- There are 2 pages, it is about TWINS, 2 "lollipop" flowers, the title has 2 words)
Quirky Crafts: Summer
Stamp Something: Summer somethings
Tellen's Place: Summer

The last Father's Day card...

I have always struggled with guy cards/pages, so Father's Day is a toughie for me...but I got 'em all done! Here's a peek at the card I made for my hubby. I based the design off of this week's sketch at Card Positioning Systems. The embossing is the Cuttlebug Diamond Plate folder, the arrow is Tim Holtz Grungeboard, and I inked and distressed the card and arrow with Tim Holtz Distress Inks. Thanks for looking!

Duct Tape Diapers

Scrapbooking ( for me) is first and foremost about keeping and recording memories. This page is one that I have wanted to complete for quite a while (about 3 years). It is a memory that is very amusing to me now, although at the time, it was so frustrating and annoying! When the twins were 2, they refused to pee in the potty, and I had the hardest time keeping diapers on them. They would go hide, take their diapers off, and pee (I swear, it was just like puppies!). So, we had to wrap a strip of duct tape around their diapers so they couldn't take them off on their own. They still figured it out though- they helped each other- it was so funny when I caught one of them tearing and unwinding the duct tape from her sister's diaper. The girls still HATE clothes (I really thought that they would outgrow that by now, but no, as soon as they get home from school, they strip their clothes off). But at least they are potty trained now!
For this LO, I die cut a diaper with my Cricut and SCAL, and wrapped a strip of duct tape around the top of it and around the chipboard letters, the photo mat, and used tiny strips of it for photo corners. The journaling spot, strip, and buttons are all Jenni Bowlin, and the patterned paper is a piece of "denim" paper from my stash.
Challenges that I am entering are:
Allsorts Challenge: buttons or Lace
Sisterhood Of Crafters: children or babies
YNS Challenges: buttons
Crafty Creations: child's Play

Easter 2009 layout...

For this layout, I started with Sketch #127 from Sketch Inspirations. I spritzed the white cardstock with Bed of Roses Shimmerz- I love the look of it, but it did run on me at the bottom a bit-guess i was a little heavy handed... the patterned paper and cardstock strips are all from my stash. The hearts are Tim Holtz Grungeboard that have been inked and "Shimmerzed" (is that a word?" I cut the loopy border with a free svg file from Heather M's blog, my cricut, and SCAL. I cut the circle @ 5 inches, Real Dial Size, Shift function on the Winter Woodland Cartridge. The journaling spot is from a pack I picked up last year at Target's dollar spot.

Scrapbooking for Twins (and a Sale!)

When Becky Fleck announced this challenge on her blog, I decided to jump in and make a couple of pages to enter in to the contest. The first page was for my daughter, Natalie. I used this awesome digistamp from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff "It's A Girl Thing" set, printed twice, colored and layered it with pop dots for dimension. Go grab this adorable set now-Lindsay has her WHOLE STORE on sale for 40% off from tonight at midnight, through midnight on the 12th! It's a great opportunity to pick up some of her fabulous sets for a FABULOUS price! (Sorry to cyber-yell, I am just super excited about this sale!)For both pages, I used papers from The Paper Studio's Fairytale Princess Glitter Stack- I love it for pretty, girly pages!

The second page is for my other twin (or twinkie, as I call them ;-) ), Cecilia. I changed the elements up a bit, but did my best to make the page very similar. My favorite element on this page is the yummy felt ribbon with the tulips sewn on. She wanted the green butterflies, and even punched them out herself!

The challenges that I am entering these pages in are:

Pagemaps- sketch

Aimee's Challenges: something for the girls

Cupcake Crafts: Dazzle Us (Natalie's page has glitter on the trees, and I used a pink Martha Stewart Glitter pen on the butterfly's spots)

Cute Daisy May:ribbons or Bows (I used ribbon on both pages)

Pollycraft Challenges:Ribbons and Bling (Bling-y patterned paper, MS Glitter Pen, and ribbon)

Scrap It With A Song: Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (Both pages are my Girls having fun at the playground!)
