How to Make Decorative Page Pebbles...A Quick Tutorial

This is what I woke up to this morning...isn't it pretty? Anyway, I thought I would share a quick tutorial on how to make your own decorative page pebbles. Here is an example of page pebbles from Prima:

And here are mine:

It only took a few easy steps to make them!

1. Gather your supplies. I used some old leftover Making Memories Page Pebbles, but if you don't have those, you can use Glossy Accents. Just be aware that the Page Pebbles sometimes yellow with age-that doesn't bother me, because it kind of adds to the vintage/aged look. I also used free Vintage Sheet music from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, Steampunk and Posh and Trendy digistamps, and Harlequin digipaper from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Bold Black And White Collection of digipapers, along with other various scraps of patterned paper with small prints (it's a great way to use up those small scraps you just can't bear to throw away!).

2. Leave your pebbles on the plastic backing and trim around with fine tipped scissors.
3. Trace arount the circle or oval with a pencil and cut with your fine tipped scissors on the marks(don't worry if it's not perfect, we'll fix it in a minute). Then you can ink or chalk your circles before adhering the pebbles if you want, I did with some of mine. Adhere the pebbles and trim any excess, using the pebbles as your guide for your scissors (don't be scared, it's easy!)

4. Voila! Page Pebbles-and you can customize them how you like!

Thursday with Lindsay's Stamp Stuff *And a Christmasy Freebie!

Well, I must admit I panicked a little bit when I got ready to do my post for today and realized that I had left my camera at my father-in-law's house yesterday! Then I remembered...duh, I HAVE a scanner! (insert smack to the forehead here!) So I scanned my cards for today...you miss some of the dimension, but you get the general idea! Here goes...

For this week's Lindsay's Stamp Stuff post, I decided that I wanted to meet a few challenges and make a few Christmas cards. The firstcard that I made was based on sketch #142 from http://cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/ . I used a couple of brand new digistamps from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, one of the Christmas Potpourri Bingo Cards (These are soooo awesome!), and the ornament is also from the new Christmas Potpourri Set. The other Christmas card for today is based on this week's Mojo Monday Sketch. I used the Holly Wreath, which is also from the Christmas Potpourri Set. I added Glossy accents to the berries and allowed them to dry overnight for a dimensional look. The gingerbread girl was a Dustin Pike freebie, which I combined with the "Happy Holidays" clear stamp sentiment that I picked up at WalMart after Christmas last year. I put them together on one of Lindsay's Embossed Scalloped mat digis, and put it all together with pop dots.

Getting started on Christmas lists... (And Find The Freebie...)

My post for today is a last minute entry for Triple The Sketch, sketch 71. I have seen all kinds of ideas to get organized for Christmas, and I am determined to carry out my plans this year! I found this great site that has downloadable calendars and lists, The Grand Plan. I printed the sheets out, put them in a white 1" binder (super cheap in the back to school supplies right now). And of course I had to decorate it (can anyone say, high school flashback!). The base is Martha Stewart Golden Woodland cardstock pad, and I cut the scalloped circle and flourishes using SCAL. I added a vintage Santa freebie I found on the web, printed on watercolor paper and heat embossed the edges in gold. I added this cute Peppermint Digistamp from the April Collection at Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, printed 3 times and colored with my Bic markers and white Uniball Signo pen. I attached it in layers with glue and pop-dots, and added the little 7Gypsies sticker and the title strips. Thanks for looking!

A Cool Treat for a Hot Day

Laugh and Play Layout-and another free SVG

My second page for this month's challenge from Lora (thescrapbooklady) to GET Some Pages DONE! This page is made using a butterfly paper lace pattern that I found on the sure cuts alot forum at Craft Edge, and a full page bracket SVG that can be downloaded for free HERE. The butterfly was cut from my Storybook cartridge, and I sprayed the flowers and butterfly using Glimmer Mist. The butterfly wasn't sparkly enough for me, so I added glitter and Stickles.Thanks for looking!

Bitten By the Bug Contest, Freebies, Stamp Stuff, and More...

So, you may have already guessed this, but I love a challenge or a contest. This one was from Bitten By the Bug and SheetLoads Of Short Cuts. The challenge was to use this sketch, and any flower from any Cricut Cartridge. So I used this darling Cupcake Tree Digistamp ( only a $1.00 from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff!), my leafy flourish svg file (find it for free HERE ) which I also cut in the darker green in SCAL's Shadow mode set at "1", and the flowers were cut from Plantain Schoolbook cartridge at 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch for the 2 smaller flowers, and 3/4 inch and 1 inch for the larger flower. I bent and shaped the petals with my fingers, and layered the smaller flowers on top of the larger ones with mini Glue Dots (I use these like crazy!), and attached tiny pink gemstones in the center of each flower. The patterned cardstock that I used for the card was from the DCWV Nana's Nursery Girl Stack, and the pink lace was my "vintage" addition, from my mother-in-law's sewing stash, and I added interest to the Cupcake Tree with sprinkles made from Stickles, and puffy pink pearlized fabric paint drops for the "cherries". I colored the actual stand that the cupcakes are on with my silver Martha Stewart glitter pen.

Easy Cards and A Father's Day Freebie

So, today I have some quick and easy cards to share. I started with the black and white card kit from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff (Love this kit, so many possibilities for only $2.00!). For the Congratulations card, I started with a light yellow card base and attached the black and white background. Then I added a couple of shimmery velvet flowers from Imaginisce, put some black brads in the center, turned the photo corners into flower by cutting the tips off and adding a black brad to the center of it. I then printed out the ladybug digistamp in a very small size, colored it with my Bic markers, and attached it all to the card with pop dots.I put Glossy Accents on the ladybug for a realistic look, and I finished it off with the word "Congratulations" from the black and white kit, which I used my little red Cat's Eye ink pad on the edges of before attaching it to the card. For the second card, I attached the black and white striped background to a white card base, chalked the edges with powder blue chalk ink,and chalked the edges of the "Thank You" sentiment with the same powder blue chalk ink. I attached a light blue flower with a jumbo black and white polka dot brad and attached the thank you with pop dots (loving these lately). Two cards in approximately 30 minutes (not counting drying and cutting time). It may have actually taken less time than that-I did these while watching a movie on tv! Super easy, and I always love to have cards on hand! I think anyone that knows me might be offended if I sent or gave them a store bought card. These card kits are an awesome way to make an easy card-everything you need is included in the kit, you can use it over and over, and you can add as much or as little to it as you would like from your own stash! Woo hoo, They say it's my birthday...

So, in celebration of my 29th bday, I have couple of Nascar svgs to share! I was able to do a nice layered logo (thanks to Dan99 and his awesome tutorial on color tracing). You can download the logo here .

I also did a set of racing flags, which can be cut in regular, then black out mode in SCAL.The file can be downloaded here . Now, I just have to find the time to work on my racing album!

I have an svg freebie for you today! These brackets are so hot right now, I thought I would share a file for one.

I traced a CU png freebie from The Scrappin Cop ,and it made a lovely svg file for you to cut with your Cricuts. I have not tried to cut it yet, so let me know how it comes out! You can download the file here . Be sure to check back tomorrow for some exciting news!
